Photograph of Alec and Hettie Broido (nee Wulfsohn). Hettie Broido (1909 -2006) was the daughter of Philip and Mary Wulfsohn (nee Simson) of Rustenburg. Alec Broido (1901-1982) was the son of Nathan and Rachel Broido (nee Newman) of Ladismith, Cape Province. He studied medicine in Dublin, Ireland and subsequently practiced in Johannesburg. They had two daughters, Sybil Altman (1936-2004) and Joyce Broido (1932-1961). The family moved to Israel after the death of their daughter Joyce. They lived in Jerusalem.
