Photograph of Biography of Lawrence Charles Levy - July 24, 1917 - August 4, 1980. It tells of Lawrence's time in WWII, and how a German tank commander spared his life. His brother Isaac (a.k.a. Jack) was taken prisoner in an unknown location until the camp was abandoned on account of the Russian Army's offensive. Both brothers were fortunate to return to South Africa after the war. Their father Abraham Benjamin Levy emigrated from Latvia to Benoni in 1910.
