Photograph of family members of the Chlavin/Hlawin family. It was taken in Latvia, circa 1927. The family originally lived in Piedruja and then moved to Riga. Siska Chlavin and Slawa Chlavin (nee Dorin) (1860-1941) had 6 children - Tewel Josel Chlavin (1888-1970), Rocha Plokchin (nee Chlavin) (1891-1944), Faibusch Chlavin (1893-1941), Feiga Chlavin born in 1896, Mascha Kagan (nee Chlavin) (1904-1974), and Gitta Usdin (nee Chlavin) (1909-1984). Many family members perished in the Holocaust. Some managed to flee to the USSR and returned to Riga after the war.
