Alderman Sol Kreiner, "Cape Town's New Mayor"

Newspaper article by Suzanne Belling from South African Jewish Times about Cape Town's new mayor Sol Kreiner. Mr Kreiner is described as a self made man, who worked his way up in business to become sole owner and director of a textile company. In 1976, he began his civic career, representing Ward 8 - Woodstock, Salt River, District Six and Walmer Estate. "In the recipe of success, the key ingredients are people," he said. "I believe that every problem can be solved and I also believe that once you start something, you finish it." Mr and Mrs Kreiner are essential "people" people but, above all, are proud and observant Jews.
