A letter from the Ambassador the United States of America, Princeton Lyman (1935-2018) which was sent to Harold Sandak-Lewin thanking him, the rabbis and members of Temple Israel for their kind and warm welcome following his and his families participation in the High Holidays Services at Temple Israel. It was dated 19th September 1994. Princeton Lyman served as Ambassador of the United States to South Africa from 1992 to 1995.

Rabbi Jack Steinhorn (1937-2011) was an American- born orthodox rabbi who led the Green and Sea Point Hebrew Congregation (Marais Road Shul) for 27 years.
