The declaration under Aliens Naturalization Act 1883, which formed part of the application for Naturalization for Lewis (Louis) Rapeport. This document promised that the subject would be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Victoria as lawful Sovereign. Her sovereignty included the Colony of the Cape of Good Hope. It was signed by Louis Rapeport on the 16th December 1891. Source: National Archives of South Africa Depot KAB Source CO reference 4276:I41 1891.
